Accomplishments

The Friends of the Algiers Courthouse have completed many projects:

• Painted and repaired hallways and other areas with Christmas in October
• Landscaped and maintain grounds with Parkway Partners program
• Decorate during holidays
• Helped secure funding for repair of tower clock
• Organized tours and history displays at the Courthouse
• Assisted in the formation of Algiers Historical Society
• Raised funds to help renovate Carriage House for use as a historical museum and public meeting space
• Paid to replace Courthouse windows after Hurricane Katrina
• Purchased furnishings for the historical museum and public meeting space
• Repaired parking lot
• Repaired and replaced broken sidewalks around the Courthouse
• Helped to develop tourist information center
